Today Datastory opens its data publishing platform to everyone. Data storytellers, including journalists, communicators, researchers and analysts, get a faster way to turn data into publishable stories, through interactive charts and data driven web applications.
Users can upload their own data or start with trusted public datasets. Datastory's AI engine helps them find noteworthy patterns, choose suitable visualizations and draft explanations. They then publish charts and web pages, all in one workflow.
“Hans Rosling taught me that data, presented right, replaces prejudice with understanding,” says Daniel Lapidus, founder of Datastory, who worked with Rosling, co-author of Factfulness.
"Lovable made building software something anyone can do. Legora is reshaping law at the same pace. We're doing the same for data. We want organizations around the world to have up to date data, AI tools and proven methods within reach, to explain complex issues and benefit society."
AI Sweden, Sweden's national center for applied AI, is building on Datastory. The platform already enables several new applications, including the Nordic AI Health Map, a map of AI initiatives in healthcare across the Nordics.
"We had the data, and with Datastory we could quickly build a user-friendly web application that connects people and projects across the Nordics." says Lorna Bartram, AI Transformation Strategist at AI Sweden.
SKR, the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions, is launching the new Vården i siffror (Healthcare in Numbers), its service for monitoring and analyzing healthcare quality in all 21 regions, on the Datastory platform.
"When data becomes more accessible and easier to grasp, we create better conditions for moving from monitoring and analysis to concrete improvement and development of healthcare," says Johan Kaarme, Head of the Department of Health and Social Care at SKR.
Datastory is free to start, with paid plans for teams.
Available at datastory.tech from 09.00 CEST, 30 September.
